Picture a trainee who took six months off — injury, illness, a relocation, a difficult work period. They walk back into the gym in week one and load the working weights they left at. Neural patterns are still there. Form looks fine. Week three to six: tendinopathy, strain, or a back tweak that lasts another two months. Restart cycle.

This is the canonical return-from-break failure, and it's almost universal. Muscle and nervous system recover faster than connective tissue. The bar still feels manageable in week one, but the tendons haven't done the remodelling work they need to do under load. The injury comes when the muscles are ready and the tendons aren't.
